1. When should I schedule a session?
I am available to shoot 7 days a week, almost all hours of the day. So while it is flexible, I still book up pretty fast. So the sooner you book the better. I try to help everyone out, so if you are in a big rush, I have been known to do a shoot even same day.
2. Where are the pictures taken?
Most shoots I do are in the Jack London Square district which is where my studio is located; usually outside to take advantage of the hundreds of different backgrounds and great light in that area. I highly encourage doing location photo shoots, it makes the photos so much more personal and unique. I've done shoots on a beach on Lake Tahoe, golf courses, alley's, warehouses, bars, and even at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The truth is that I can shoot anywhere you like, the location will effect the price slightly if it is outside of my studio area.
3. How long will it take?
Every shoot is different. How many outfits and styles you want will really increase the time. I recommend that you set aside at least 2 hours for shooting and proofing. If you want to shoot several outfits it can go up to 4 hours for shooting and proofing. If you are in a time crunch, let me know and I will happy to adapt whatever I can to meet your schedule.
4. What should I wear?
Whether it's for professional corporate headshots, theatrical headshots or even a family portrait, I always recommend the same thing. Wear what you think you look best in. Bring a couple of different outfits if you like and I am happy to help you pick out what will be best for the shoot. If you want to wear stripes or graphics, it doesn't matter, these days anything goes, we can make it work. If there are multiple people in the shoot, I recommend wearing similar tones and styles. I try to steer people from wearing identical outfits.
5. What should I bring with me?
Please bring any hair or makeup products that you use, as well as a brush etc.
6. How many photos will you take?
I don't put any limit on how many shots I take, I will take how ever many it takes to get lots of great photos for you to choose from. Even on smaller shoots I usually end up taking hundreds of pictures.
7. When do I get to see proofs?
You get to see the rough images immeadiatly after the shoot! If we shoot in or around the studio we will sit down at the computer right away and pick which images you want. If we shoot on location I usually try to plan for enough time for us to sit down at a local coffee shop and pick out the images there.
8. What do I get from the shoot?
Whatever images you choose from the shoot will be retouched and enhanced, usually about 1-2 hours per image to make them look amazing. Those images can be placed on a CD or emailed directly to you in a very high resolution. The copyright on those finished images is released to you so you can print whatever and wherever you like.
9. When do I get my finished pictures?
Usually finished images are ready within days. If you have ordered prints it can take up to two weeks, rush orders are available. Theatrical or Corporate Headshots can take up to 3 weeks, if you have an audition sooner than that, let me know and we can get you at least however many you need to get by. Wedding albums can take up to 3 months with custom design as well as custom printing.
10. What if I have other questions?
Call me, email me, text me, Facebook me, carrier pigeon me, whatever works for you and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
